Chili Con Carne & Cerveza | My Lunchbox | I love a good hearty chili recipe. I find that keeping it simple with a good beer as the slight liquid consistency is one key to an authentic chunky chili taste. Beans, ground beef and pork, slowely simmered with a side of sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese and a touch of lime. Dunk some buttered garlic toast in that mix and we got some sweet chili lovin’ !!! Stay tuned… Recipes and lists coming soon to joeyngoy.com
Seared Amaebi (Sweet Shrimp) Ikura topped with Uni Sauce Sushi | Sushi Hiro | Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong | Heaven sent… Uni sauce is amazing and goes with everything!! You have to try this combo sometime at a sushi joint, especially at Sushi Hiro in Hong Kong! #slapsomebody !!
Walnut Shrimps | Lightly battered shrimp, covered in mayo and tossed with walnuts. A classic westernized LA ‘chinese food’ dish that is addicting if you love shrimp and mayo. Happy Sunday! :) (at Seafood Village)
Slow Cooked Lengua Taco | Joey’s Lunchbox | I’m super close to nailing down my salsa roja (red sauce)!! I added 25 chiles de japones in the chili mix today and started sweating as I tasted it, lol. #SPICY ! Anyway, fried up some of my favorite meat, lengua (beef tongue) tacos tonight. It’s best when you slow cook the beef tongue for a few hours in a marinade broth then pan-fry it until it’s slightly crispy on the outside. Tacos are so simple but addicting; corn tortillas, minced cilantro, minced onions, your choice of minced meat and salsa. Fold that up and time to eat! YUM !

This combo of texas long-grained cilantro lime rice, braised slow-cooked beef, sour cream, melted monterey jack cheese, topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and salsa verde was delicious. Check it out if you’re around keong saik road in Singapore and go with an appetite. #slapsomebody !!
